This year, one of my biggest goals is to read the entire Bible — not to know everything, but to build my foundation. I simply want to know what happened for myself, rather than relying solely on someone else’s interpretation. I believe that when you have your own foundation, you’re less likely to be discouraged or led astray while on your journey.
And I’m proud to say that I’ve made it to 31 days of reading the Bible! 🎉
This past month, I’ve learned a lot. Some of the familiar stories have taken on a new meaning, and some of my perspectives have even shifted. But most importantly, my knowledge of God is growing — and I’m really enjoying the process.
Every day I find myself looking forward to the drama of the Old Testament, what I might learn, and what may be revealed to me about God’s love for us. I’ve tried reading the Bible before, but this time feels different. This time feels intentional. And for that, I’m grateful.
For anyone wondering, I’ve been doing The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble – a chronological 365 day reading plan that includes daily readings, summaries, commentary, and other resources. I personally do the reading plan, watch the Recap videos through the Bible App (You Version), and I use the study guide questions to guide conversations with my reading partner — Amanda. (shout out to my sister!😘)
If you are considering reading the Bible, I recommend you do it with a friend! Create a judgment-free space where you can express your uncensored and authentic thoughts, questions, and revelations. And trust me when I say, there’s A LOT to discuss.
Also, I set goals for this year to grow my blog – post consistently & gain new subscribers. I’ve been posting every Sunday & I’ve even gained a few more readers! Thank you for being here, your support doesn’t go unnoticed. 💚
Lastly, this year I’ve been trying to be more intentional overall – pouring into myself and my relationship with God. January has reminded me that growth is sometimes quiet, consistent, and most of all faithful.
All in all, these 31 days have been enlightening and a great time. January has been a strong and consistent start, and I look forward to seeing the rest of my progress throughout the year.
