Faithful Bible Gem #1: Don’t Block FAMILIAR Blessings

In this verse, Jesus goes back to his hometown to teach and perform miracles for His people. But when He tries, they reject him. They literally couldn’t fathom that Jesus – someone who was “just a carpenter” – could bless them. “Oh, He ain’t nobody, that’s just Mary’s son.” (They really played in his face for real) And as a result of their rejection, Jesus couldn’t bless them. And it’s not because He did not want to; they just didn’t have faith that He could bless them because He was too familiar – He wasn’t “special” enough. Therefore, He couldn’t possibly be capable of performing miracles. (“Familiarity can cancel faith” – Pastor Mike Jr.)

So let’s talk about how when you get put on – you finally get blessed! You got that job; you started making money; you got that position and can hire people; etc. etc. etc. – You literally got the keys to open doors for others. And what’s the first thing you do? You go back and try to share those blessings with your people. But sometimes when you try to share [xyz], or offer to help and provide resources, those same people try to remind you that you are not special – that you don’t have power, rank, knowledge, etc. And in essence, they minimize your accomplishments and downplay the hard work you put in. They don’t believe (or have faith) that you’re capable of helping them. And they refuse to see the advanced you. They see the person you were before.

And the truth is: you cannot force people to see you. You cannot force people to be open to the blessings that you can provide them. You definitely cannot help advance people to a level they are not ready for. But it’s their loss, not yours.

And you have to keep the faith and stand firm in your accomplishments. Their rejection should not limit your faith nor discourage you from walking forward on your new path or even blessing someone else. If they aren’t ready, leave em! Because it’s true what they say, “everybody can’t come/go with you”.

A lot of time we receive blessings through other people. And sometimes it’s the people we least expect. Makes you wonder how many blessings we’ve missed because we couldn’t get past the face of the blessing or the vessel it came in.

TAKE AWAY:
Don’t block a blessing because the face/vessel looks too familiar. Blessings can come through all kinds of people.

If your faith is missing, you won’t receive miracles …
